About Smash Senpai
Smash Senpai is a free, fan-made site where you play Smash or Pass with characters from anime and games, then see how your votes compare with players around the world.
Why I made it
I always wanted to play Smash or Pass with my friends, but I could never find a good place to play it, and nothing that used specific game characters. So I decided to build it myself.
The first page I made was Anime Smash or Pass. Back then I hosted the site on GitHub and did not even have a domain name. I learned a lot from building it, and it has grown into the site you see today.
My goal now is to make Smash or Pass games for every category and for popular games, so more people can have fun with it. I design, build, and maintain the entire platform independently as a solo developer.
What you can do here
- Play Smash or Pass games with characters from anime and popular game franchises
- Check live character leaderboards for each game
- Browse every character in the gallery and see live Smash and Pass totals
- Vote through knockout tournaments
Every vote counts toward the live rankings, so the boards keep changing as more people play.

How the rankings work
Rankings come from votes and nothing else. Every Smash adds a point for that character, and the boards refresh every hour. There are no editor's picks. The tier names you see, like God Tier or S-Class, only reflect a character's position on the board. When a new game launches its numbers start small, so its board takes a while to settle.
Who is included
My rule is to include only adult characters. Minors and child-proportioned designs are left out of every mode, ranking and gallery.
